Back Exercise and Pain Relief

 

Are you looking for some back pain remedies in hopes of overcoming back pain?

Dozens of creative and practical changes can be made to your daily routine that may substantially help you in overcoming back pain - and frustrations.

I've been treated for my own back pain for almost 20 years. After dozens of visits to medical doctors, physical therapists and chiropractors I've discovered three very important ways to relieve my own back pain - exercise, lifestyle changes and pampering.

1. Exercise

Do you exercise for back pain? I know, it sounds counter-intuitive. Your back is aching like crazy and I'm suggesting exercise. The truth is, that is exactly what I've found to be the #1 relief for my own pain.

Everyone's situation is different, of course. However, you may want to ask your doctor if you can get started with some easyexercises that will help strengthen your back and stomach muscles - the muscles that form the girdle which supports the spine. The good news is, most people don't need a lot of exercise before they start to see results. And, if you continue with some simple stretching and strengthening exercise on a routine basis you may be well on the road to overcoming back pain.

2. Lifestyle changes

Do you know why your back hurts? You might be surprised to learn that the shoes you are wearing are the cause of back pain, or it could be the way you're sleeping, or stress and tension. In many cases it's simply poor posture that causes discomfort. There are literally hundreds of things we do on a daily basis that affect the health of our back. That's why determining the cause of back pain is such an important first step in overcoming back pain.

3. Pampering

Yes, pampering. Spoil your back rotten and you may be surprised how much better you begin to feel. Every once in a while a bit of a splurge can make a big difference. Have you thought about a massage, or even a relaxing home spa treatment? How about a few yoga or Pilates lessons to get you acquainted with new relaxation techniques? Maybe your bed needs some new accessories like a comfy body pillow to help maintain better sleeping posture. Use your imagination and overcoming back pain may be easier for you than you think!
